1982 – Zwanziger Tops Jones County Fair

Monticello, Iowa (August 7, 1982) – Bill Zwanziger of Waterloo sped to victory Saturday afternoon in the late model feature race held on the half-mile dirt at the Jones County Fair.

Finishing second was Dan Nesteby of Waterloo with Ken Walton of Viola taking third.

Jeff Aikey of Cedar Falls won top honors in the sportsman class as he won over home towner Jay Iben.

Mike Schulte of Norway won the IMCA modified feature with Tom Fitzpatrick of Gilbertsville taking runner-up honors.

Hometown driver Gus Hughes won the altered street stock feature with Dave Naylor of Scotch Grove finishing second.

The fun class feature went to Bob Bossard of Monticello with Tom Schneller of Monticello taking second.
